Movie Review- Halloween (2018)

 

Hello everyone. Today I would like to introduce the movie Halloween. This movie was directed by David Gordon Green and the film was released in the United States in 2018. This work depicts 40 years after the original Halloween directed by John Carpenter, the first work released in 1978. This series has been called America's Three Great Horror stories. The highlight of this work is that it is a sequel, not a remake of the 1978 work.

On Halloween night 1978, the murderer, Michael Myers (Nick Castle), escaped from the psychiatric ward and killed the people of the city. His purpose was to kill a high school girl Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis). But Michael failed to kill her. From this incident he became known as Boogeyman. On Halloween night 2018, an accident occurred while he was being to a transferring different psychiatric ward, and Michael escaped again and killed the people of the city. The story is that Laurie has grown up and decides to fight Boogeyman.

The reason I chose this movie this time is because it will be Halloween soon. I have heard the name Boogeyman, but I have never watched a movie in the series Halloween. My impression after watching this movie is that murderer easily and brutally kills people, and this is a type of horror movie that I have never watched before. The highlight of the movie is Laurie who has been fighting the murderer for over 40 years, but viewers do not know why she has been targeted so far. But it may be better if we do not know the truth, because we can look forward to the future story.

Movie Review- Split (2016)

 Hello everyone. Today I would like to introduce Split. The film was released in 2016 and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. The main character are Kevin Wendell Clam acted by James McAvoy and Casey Cook acted by Anya Taylor- Joy. Multiple personalities are the key to this work. 

Next I will introduce the story. Casey Cook had been sexually abused by her uncle since she was little. One day, on the way home from her friend's birthday party, Casey, Claire and Marcia were kidnapped by a stranger. Trapped in a dark basement, the three girls asked for an opportunity to escape from a man called Kevin. At one point, the girls heard Kevin and Patricia talking outside the door, but the kidnapper Kevin had a dissociative identity disorder, the called multiple personality. After that, he had 23 personalities, including the dominant personality of Dennis and the personality of a child named Hedwig. He became a multiple personality after being abused by his mother when he was a child. The 24th personality is Beast and it seems that three girls were brought in as a sacrifice for it. And at the end of the story, Beast is born and they are attacked one after another.

The highlight of this movie is the acting of James McAvoy who acts the role of Kevin. There are 7 personalities that mainly appear in the work and all of them act like different people, so I think that is the highlight. I recommend this movie for people who don't watch horror movies so much, so please watch it if you are interested.

Movie Review- Child's Play

 

Hello everyone. Today I will talk about Child's Play. This movie is an American horror movie. It was created by Don Mancini. There are 8 works, and I watched about 5. I'll explain this contents. A doll containing the soul of a murderer kills more and more people and finally exchanges souls with a human. 

Chucky was originally a very popular electric doll for children called "Good Guy Doll". He could speak a few words while moving his face with two batteries. Charles Lee Ray, who was guilty of murder, cast a spell on the doll when he was on  the verge of death and succeeded in transferring his soul to the Good Guy Doll, Ray escaped death by transferring to the  dolls body. Andy, a 6 year old boy, received a Good Guy Doll from his mother as a birthday present. It was really a murder doll with the soul of a murderer. Chucky planned to move on to Andy's body and murder people. One of the features of this series is that no one believes that "dolls kill people". No matter how much Andy insists, adults never believe. That spreads the damage. 

I think most people know about this movie, but honestly I did not really like it when I watched this series at first. I did not like the depictions of killing people, but as I watched some of them, I gradually began to find them interesting. But I do not recommend it for people who do not like horror, But if you are interested in horror, please watch it!!!
